MyHotCommentsMary Alice Kemery was born on Easter in a crazy thunderstorm streaked by lightning in a house on Kingwood street in Morgantown West Virginia. No one ever knew her exact birthday and she never revealed it during her lifetime, swearing even her father to secrecy. It has been said she was born in April 1925. Mary Alice assumed the name Linda while she hosted a popular radio show called "Love letters from Linda" in which she read letters between soldiers and their loved ones during WW2. It was during this time she met her second husband Sam O. Goodman and took his last name.Linda began her career writing for newspapers in the eastern and southeastern US. In 1968 she became responsible for moving people into and thru the "New Age" by writing her first book "Sun Signs". this was the first astrology book ever to earn a spot on The New York Times best sellers list. There were many more to follow:
Love Signs,
Venus Trines at Midnight (1970)
Linda Goodman’s Love Poems (1980)
Linda Goodman’s Star Signs: the secret codes of the universe (1987)
Gooberz (1989)
Linda Goodman’s Relationship Signs (1998)Linda had an ability to speak directly to her readers through her writings as if she knew them personally. Her book titled "Gooberz" has been said to possess a chameleon essence which may cause it to become, as you read it, your own personal biography. It is a book that will change your life.
Linda Goodman's "Star Signs" is a must for understanding the secret codes of the universe. In this book Linda covers such topics as Numerology, DEJA VU, Lexigrams, and physical immortality. This is an inside book into the ways of Linda's own personal beliefs. Not only does she share her own thoughts but has an uncanny ability to back it all up with truth.
Even though she was one of the times greatest astrologers she was also an expert poet. Linda was said to have told many people that she would rather have been known for her poetry. In her book "Venus Trines at Midnight", Linda paints with words that reference astrology, love , and life in a perfect harmonious symphony. After staying mostly on the East and West coast Linda finally settled in Cripple Creek Colorado where she lived to be 70 and died on October 25th ,1995 after complications with diabetes. The house where she had a stained glass window of St. Francis of Assisi specially made and had time clocks in all the right places but purposely with the wrong times is still said to be exactly the way she left it.
