About Me

Like my playing, this page is a work in process.
My recordings are all live, no editing.
I am a 26 year old Oboist and at times an English Horn player, lost in a world of pretentious musicians quick to judge; where standing out, and being an individual is not always encouraged. I would like to change that.
I was born in Mineola New York on July 26th, 1982 and raised in Pleasant Valley(NY); which is where I began studying the Oboe only at the age of 15 under the instruction of Cheryl Bishkoff. My Junior year of High school (age 17), I was asked by the one and only composer/conductor Joan Tower to join her chamber orchestra at Bard College; initially coming in as second Oboe, and quickly by-passing their principal Oboist and being made principal just a quick 4 months later. I played with her Orchestra, as well as the Hudson Valley Youth Symphony, up until I graduated High School and moved to New Jersey for college.
Labeled a "superstar" from the beginning, I obtained a what I thought to be an unbreakable ego at an early age..that was until I reached college, and egos were quickly beaten down. But, in the summer of 2002 I made my professional orchestral debut at the age of 19, with the New England Symphonic Ensemble at Carnegie Hall. Since then everything has only gone uphill. I played with the New England Symphonic Ensemble again, as well as the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra(Colorado), the Fort Collins Symphony(Colorado), the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra(Wyoming), the Denver Municipal Band (Colorado), and Up Close and Musical Orchestra (Colorado), as well as many freelance Orchestras back east in New York city, and New Jersey.
In addition to performing with orchestras I have also worked with the New Jersey Youth Symphony as a section coach, I was a performer and lecturer for 'Young Audiences of New Jersey', and have participated in Master Classes with artists such as Simone Fontanelli (University of Mozarteum in Salzburg), Joseph Golan (Chicago Symphony), Matt Sullivan (everything to do with Oboe in NYC), Donald Oehler (University of North Carolina), and Freddy Arteel (Koninklijk Muzickonservatorium).
A recent Masters graduate of the Lamont School of Music, and member of the World Orchestra; I will soon be calling Denver, Colorado home once again.

Confusing advice?
