D ecades after the birth of rock and roll, who would imagine how three men could make such a new sound? ZeroShip smashes into the various genres from which they arose - alternative, progressive rock, blues.
Chicago boys one and all, ZeroShip are a guitar and drum driven mania, punctuated with one of the best voices to ever sing Rock and Roll (and thats not just hyperbole). Aaron Keller's amazing voice compliments Jimmy Peace's virtuoso guitar and Joel Tomaeno's fantastical drum smashing, creating a new and vital sound in the city of big shoulders.
The band are presently spending all of their waking hours in the studio, putting together some awesome sounds that can be sampled on their website, and have great credentials already.
Jimmy Peace has played on various albums, appeared on MTV, has been written about in Rolling Stone Magazine, as well as toured extensively with his other bands. He comes from a musical family that includes his uncle, the legendary Tom Jones. Jimmy was over six feet at the age of twelve, and he was already proficient enough on the guitar to join a band and start playing in bars. At twelve? That is a natural talent. And yes, Jimmy Peace is his real name.
Joel and Jimmy met while playing together and the laid back Jimmy and the hyper Joel somehow clicked right away. They make for some phenomenal music that is a very pleasing set of sounds all their own. Their influences range from Janes Addiction to Jazz, from progressive rock greats such as Yes to post-punk pioneers like At the Drive In. Mostly ZeroShip sound like themselves - a hard rocking, driven band with intelligent lyrics.
Aaron majored in economics and was doing graduate work when he decided that he was going to change directions and sing in a rock band. For most people this would be a pipe dream, but Aarons phenomenal voice immediately made him a hot commodity in the Chicago Scene.
The band have played out at various venues, from corner clubs to The Art Institute, where they were greeted with great enthusiasm. People are always telling Aaron, I didnt even think a man could hit those notes. He writes all of the lyrics; a spiritual man and a seeker, Aarons lyrics read like minimalistic poetry. Gods at War is one of the songs on their upcoming album. The yearning and wisdom in the lyrics is intelligent and thoughtful what you would expect from a man who was getting a PhD before the muse grabbed him out of that life and shoved him out on the stage.
Add a seasoned guitarist who plays on the level of the best of the best, and the pure animalistic pleasure of hearing Joel masterfully pounding out the beat, and you can bet that ZeroShip is going to smash into the Billboard charts.

Dear Friend of ZeroShip ,
Do you remember the last concert you saw or album you played for enjoyment? Unfortunately, if it was the radio music of today's mainstream then chances are it wasn't much of an experience for you. Was that particular live or recorded performance actually a performance, or were you as the listener simply expected to enjoy what was being played at you?
We find that many listeners these days feel music has lost the journey that allows the fullest experience. No doubt we all listen to music or see a live show at times to leave behind the mundane nature of everyday life, but music these days simply spits those realities back at us. We can't speak for you, but we definitely don't need to spend money to hear about relationship problems and angst.
In contrast, a real musical journey is what we try to give. We in ZeroShip aim to envelope you as the listener in the story and experience of the music. Come aboard and travel with us, don't just sing along. We focus a lot on expression to create a sound that carries you to the world of the song, where you're free to share in our vision of the world around us.
Our style is progressive and experimental, built on an eclectic foundation of what we've found to be the best of the musical past - from punk to classical. So, in each of the ZeroShip songs that you're about to hear no doubt you'll enjoy a sound that's both reminiscent to the ear and fresh to the mind.
Check back often for new music in the future and always feel free to let us know what you think. After all, it's supposed to be your experience too.
Wishing you good life and good music,
Aaron , Jimmy and Joel
ZeroShip
