ARV is not your conventional band. There are some schools of thought that put forward the view that ARV should not be called a band at all.Often referred to as "The Idiot's TISM" and "The Musical Counterpart Of Television's 'The Chaser's War On Everything' If They Had Any Talent", ARV was formed by the mysterious and enigmatic Merucio Molotov with a purpose. The purpose is to this day unclear, but Molotov has been quoted in a non-existent issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, saying it was to "tear it apart and get hot".Nobody knows what this means.Despite widespread negative criticism, ARV have somehow gathered a base of 'fans' that talk about them in hushed whispers in the darkest corners of bars throughout Australia as though they were some sort of perverse gods. There are some who even claim to have heard the totally unreleaseable track "French Revolution" and can be heard singing it when they are too drunk to care about being asked to leave. While Molotov's allegorical lyrics (scholars of the band might point to the track The Day I Tried To Save The World) and strange anonyminity have puzzled stalwart listeners and newcomers since the band's inception, ARV seem determined to continue...We'll see.
