About Me

Singer/songwriter and pianist Chris Dye is currently finishing work on his debut album.
Born in Leeds, Chris discovered at the age of eleven that he could play the piano despite never having had lessons. After High School, Chris attended Leeds College of Music for three years. In July 2003, Chris's father, with whom he had not spoken for three years, passed away. This relationship is documented in the opening track 'Dear Dad'. After selling his father's house, Chris, by this time working in sexual health, decided to quit the day job to work on music full time.
The result, 'Skeletons' brings together twelve self-penned songs that Chris considers to be his best to date. The album was recorded at the Townhouse Studios in London and also in Surrey, Leeds and Sheffield.

Once again, I find myself writing a blog which details how I have ended up not doing anything more on my CD. I had a wider plan though, of which this was one part&and it'll get done. I read that Joni ...

Risk

I have lived in London for nearly 7 months now, and I love it. It was more of an upheaval than I thought it would be, largely because while changing location itself was logistically a challenge, the p...

I Will Be Your Child Tonight

I've calmed down a little bit after last week's incident regarding this song, but it prompted me to write about this one next. For anyone who didn't get my bulletin or read about this on other sites w...

Nocturne

My love affair with London began in the summer of 1999, when Viki, a friend I had met randomly in a club in Leeds had gone down there to sort out a visa, with me in tow. Viki was one of those girls wh...

Marmalade

I wrote this in a bit of a different way to how I normally write. I was listening to a lot of electronic music and was obsessed with the 80s. I had a drum track running and a synth lead sound on the k...

Dear Dad

It will be four years this August since my Dad died. And seven and a half years since I last saw him. When he died I cried partly for the death of a man who must have been in considerable pain for man...

My Happy Sides

For a limited time you can download the demo I did of a song called 'My Happy Sides' from my myspace page. This was to be Track 5 on the album, 'Skeletons' but I pulled it in favour of the new song 'A...

Skeletons - Making the Album (Part Four)

I have done quite a bit since my last post, but it's taken me longer than I would have liked. Like I said in my previous post, I've had laryngitis, which has meant I had to delay recording the vocals....
