Daniel John Martin, jazz violin and vocals, was born in Congleton, England.
After having spent most of his childhood in Africa (Dakar-Senegal/ Johanesburg-South Africa- for ten years) he came to Paris France where he continued to study the violin at Parisian conservatories.
He soon met up with jazz and it has remained his main interest ever since.
Daniel John Martin has recorded with many artists , Urban Gipsy is his first solo album.
You can hear Daniel John Martin every wednesday hosting the most important gipsy jam session in Paris at the "Les Petits Joueurs" club alongside worldwide reknowned guitar player ANGELO DEBARRE. Daniel John Martin tours regularly with his Urban Gipsy band alongside Samy Daussat on guitar, Claudius Dupont on counterbass and François Ricard on drums. Daniel John Martin and Patrick Saussois perform together regularly (Le Duc des Lombards, Festivals, Le Quecumbar...see prog.) They have just recorded a live album together with Ducato Piotrowski on rythm guitar and Andy Crowdy on counterbase at the now famous Quecumbar.
