Welcome to my page. For those that don't know me I'm known as Master T, a radio personality/DJ/Entrepreneur. I have been a DJ for over 30 years, presenting SOCA from the West Indies on my radio shows three times a week: Monday 7.15-9.15, Wednesday 8.15-10.15 & Saturday 7.15-9.15 on the Beat fm 101.9.My aim is to make SOCA more recognised in the UK, I feel its time our music is more appreciated in the universal world of music as it is celebrated throughout the world via carnival. So now its time to see these artists receive more exposure and credit through promoting their music on mainstream music channels and awards such as MTV. My passion for SOCA stemmed from my childhood, I was born in Grenada and spent most of my childhood in the Caribbean where I was surrounded by music in particular SOCA. Growing up I can remember the effect music had on my family, it always gave me an indescribable feeling of fun & happiness, to see people enjoying themselves and generally having a good time enthused my motivation and dedication to music, which has followed me throughout my life. My love for my music inspired me to open a record shop in Acton high street known as Jam & Wine Record Shop.I have met some of the greatest soca artists of all time: Shadow, Mighty Sparrow, Inspector, Randy Isaac, Krosfyah, and more recent artists Lavaman, Baron, Ajamu, Baby Killa, Berbice, Soca Bantan, Zingo, 4Brass and many more.I have been involved in many charitable events for the Caribbean, namely numerous events that took place surrounding Hurricane Ivan in 2004, which devastated parts of islands: Grenada, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cayman Islands and parts of Cuba before hitting certain parts of the United States. In total 121 people died from this hurricane, being from the Caribbean and solely from Grenada this was dear to my heart so I played at many events to raise money to help the Caribbean nations affected and help organised a shoe box appeal for children whereby we sent shoe boxes full of toys and fun things from children and people in the UK who wanted to send something special for all the children affected. Due to my support and help I received a letter on behalf of the Grenadian high commissioner thanking me for all the support I had given.
