About Me

Brandon was born in Bellflower, CA and swiftly moved to the suburbs of Sacramento, CA. He found interest in music and performing in 5th grade via the clarinet. His musical aptitude was apparent even at that age, his teacher moved him to the advanced class in a week. Brandon led the school's band for the next seven years playing saxophone, drums, and whatever else he could lay his hands on. At the age of 15 he was given his first guitar by his mom. An old nylon-string from her youth. It was set aside and played infrequently because he thought drums were cooler. At around the age of 16, a friend of his played some B.B. King and SRV for him - he was hooked. Brandon joined a band playing guitar and attempted to sing. This was cut short at the age of 17 when he was hired by a local metal band to go on the road playing drums. Two years passed and Brandon flip-flopped back and fourth between drums and guitar. On a Sunday night while Brandon was working late at a gas station, a lady came in dressed nicely and he asked where she was going. She invited him to come along to a blues jam in Folsom. He was intrigued and went with her the following week. He was again hooked, the idea of playing blues music with other people was overwhelmingly appealing and exciting. At the age of 20, He followed all of the people he looked up to and played all the jams he could find. He taught himself to sing while working late nights at the gas station listening to Led Zeppelin and Alice in Chains on the radio. Playing at various venues around California he gained notoriety and stirred up a lot of interest. He even made it on the radio a few times via live simul-cast. At 22 he was enlisted by the Mama Z and the Hot Buttered Blues band. The Mama Z band spent 5 years together, recorded 3 CD's, and gained radio airplay on Mick Martin's blues show. The Mama Z band was well-travelled, playing venues from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe and averaging 170 shows per year. Through these experiences, Brandon gained an affection for being on stage and came into his own as a performer and guitar player. A dynamic and charismatic performer, Brandon has shown the ability to draw fans and friends from long distances to almost any venue.
