Passat is a female-male vocal-instrumental quintet specialized in original author's compositions in sea-songs and own interpretations of traditional Irish songs. Our repertoire includes also some well known songs (written and sang by other groups) so beloved by the audience. The group was founded in 2000 in MDK (Youth Culture House) in Bytom. Since 2001 the group sang on the stages of all of the biggest shanties festivals in Poland. In 2007 the group has recorded an LP album „Zatancz z Irma†(which can be easily translated as „Dance with Irmaâ€). Our songs have also been recorded at two charity records: „Szanty dla Pajacyka†in 2003 (the total income of which covered the costs of meals for undernourished Polish children) and „Zobaczyc morze†in 2006 (initiative of polish sea-songs musicians for two friends tested by illnesses).
