My Interests

Music:

Band Members: I made this Edvard Grieg CD as many people have requested me to record an album with his songs. (Grieg is the national composer of Norway). Although Grieg has a special place in my heart, I have a true love for the musical theatre. However, I also have a fondness for writing music and lyrics, and stories, in my leisure time. I am currently working on an album to feature my own songs. My goal is to combine my background as a classical vocalist with my experience as a theatre actress to express my own thoughts and feelings through my inner voice as a writer. You can hear examples of my songwriting ability by listen to my newly released single; "Where Are You Now?" .. .. NEW RELEASE: "Fisher Bird Girl" Music by Elisabeth Ekornes, Lyrics by Veronique Cyphyre featured on the new compilation recording: Polka Haunt US, containing 13 NEW spooky songs, each based upon famous ghost legends from different regions around the world. Polka Haunt will be released in time for Halloween/Dia de Los Muertos/All Saints Day, 2008.The goal is to include as many different sub-genres of polkas as possible, with World Music and other unusual musical combinations- from Klezmer to Folk, Metal to Country, Asian to Reggae! The result will be a delightfully dark melange of music best described as "World Gothic Polka."
Influences: Kiri Te Kanawa, Barbara Hendricks, Edita Gruberova, Luciano Paverotti, Whitney Houston, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Andrea Bochelli, Charlotte Church, Barbara Straisand.
