About Me

Joe Connolly was born in Burlingame, Ca. He moved to Portland, Ore. in 1969. He is happily married and still living in Oregon. Along with his wife Maureen he has been involved with Search and Rescue Teams in the community over the past few years but are taking a break from that for now. When he is not in the studio or playing, he can usually be found working outdoors, or spending time with his grandchildren. As for his musical background, Joe has been playing the piano in one form or another since the age of 3 when as a definitive statement, he saw fit to bite the ends off of all of the keys except for the middle "D" key on the family piano. In 2000 he chose to pursue his love of playing drums.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Currently the drummer for the Marty Baggen Band. Also working on two other projects. One is his second solo CD and the other is a movie script he and his wife are creating and to which he is also writing the soundtrack.
Influences: Toto (especially David Paich & the late Jeff Porcaro), Journey (In particular-- original members Aynsley Dunbar & Gregg Rolie) , Elton John, Paul McCartney, Led Zeppelin (Yeah I know they didn't have a keyboard player but that whole band was GREAT!) .....And last but certainly not least, my biggest influence of all (as it should be for EVERY keyboard player on the planet) is Bartolomeo Cristofori - The INVENTOR of the Piano.
Sounds Like: Music ;-) Actually depending on which song you listen to, you might say that it could be "what a mood sounds like". In general, my music tends to lean heavily toward the movie soundtrack genre. I do love to create mainstream rock as well.
