My name is Katie Eltink and I am a Holland (Valburg,Gelderland) born singer/songwriter who fell in love with Country music after immigrating to Canada in 1997.I live on a farm in rural Ontario ...another passion besides writing ,singing and songwriting! I always write from the heart whether it's a country song or a song with some European flavour...I am a poet as well and was a short story writer in highschool,that is probably why all my songs start out with lyrics first,the story is there before anything else.While I write the story I "hear" the music , "feel" the atmosphere that the song should represent and then it takes talented people like John Jamieson and Kevin Gorman to help me build the arrangement around my general ideas.In my book,every story needs it's own approach and that's why one can sound totally different from the other.At all times the music should compliment the story as I see it fit.I am not sure if I can really label myself one particulair style all the time ...... the final outcome totally depends on where I want to take you..... My debut album "Her Time" fully represents my vocal,harmonizing , songwriting skills and musical interests at this point in my life.A big "Thank You" to everybody who has helped me realizing this dream in any shape or form!!! I want to continue growing as lyricist,songwriter,singer and performer in this world of great music.There's so much more to learn...It's a great process that I enjoy to the fullest.And if I would be allowed to dream really big..My wish would be to sing a duet with Wynonna!... I have had the pleasure to write "My Cowboy",Her Time,Disguise and Angel Eyes with producer John Jamieson from Soundhouse Studio in Kilbride who worked with Shania Twain and wrote "Born from the Heart,Stay with me and I am walking Away with Sony/Bmg associate producer Kevin Gorman from Kgproductions in London,Ontario.I was lucky to share the Studio with CCMA guitar player Wendell Ferguson,banjo player Chris Quinn and honoured to share the stage with great guitarist Glen Affeldt while touring through Ontario in the tribute act "Legend in Black" playing the role of June Carter Cash.I also have been an opening act for country artist George Fox.I won the Nashville NewCountryStar favorite female vocalist for the month of March ,went to Nashville and shared the stage with some of Nashville's greatest writers at Fuel,The Commodore,The Blue Bar and the Broken Spoke.I also appeared on NashvilleOnStage for a televised Broadcast through Nashville and Southern Kentucky. ......I write and perform from my heart and I hope it shows....I hope my songs make you laugh,cry or think a little deeper about life.......Nice to meet you all!!
