About Me

The Story of Joyrides Art Company. How did Joyrides Art Company come to be?It began in the summer of 2007 when Mark Kawakami, Photographer and Designer was asked to participate in an art show to showcase his photography of whips, choppers and the rockabilly culture. The art show took place at Two Bits Gallery inside of Mac’s Barber Shop in Long Beach, CA. Mark by trade is an Art Director and Photographer with extensive design and photography experience. In preparing for the August showcase, Mark developed an original, hand drawn logo for what is now known as Joyrides Art Company. Soon after the logo was finalized, a creative idea sparked into a collaboration of efforts to produce apparel such as wife beaters, t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts. Following a great initial response at the show, Joyrides Art Company apparel was born and as a result, additional exciting designs and photographs have been created and developed. In December, 2007 the Joyrides Art Company website will officially launch and will offer services that include; graphic design, photography, ad design and apparel for men and women. It will showcase Mark’s talents and enable his creative energy to thrive while Liz manages the business aspect. Joyrides Art Company’s first vendor debut will take place in April, 2008 at the Viva Las Vegas show in Las Vegas, NV.When you have a passion for what you love it transcends into your work and soon touches those around you who have that same passion. Joyrides Art Company was founded by Mark’s amazing creative talent and an immense amount of support and enthusiasm from his wife Liz. Joyrides Art Company prides itself in our work and in the services we will offer to our clients, primarily as a premiere photography choice to all those who enjoy the thrill of a joyride.Ride Hard…Ride Fast…Por Vida… Joyrides Art CompanyMark & Liz Kawakami Owners & Operators
