THE CODENAMES

About Me

The Codenames music is a mix of humor, horror and hometown kitsch. Started on a back porch in rural Kentucky, what began as a joke is now a rock-n-roll band with its third CD, Spooka Lucha. Stumble Lee, D.J. Snapps, Jonny Two-Times and Jimmy Jack Cash are just four rockin daddies from Americas heartland. Their kooky songs are chock full of stories about zombies, snakemen, and hairy girlfriends. Boredom. Thats what started it all. Theres not much to do in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky unless you play basketball or work in a coal mine. Jonny Two-Times and Stumble Lee started making silly boom box tapes to kill some time and amuse their friends. Soon their buddy D.J. Snapps was getting in on the fun. When Snapps purchased one of those newfangled digital recorders with a CD burner, The Fabulous Codenames started burning CDs and getting them played on local radio stations. Music from their first two CDs, 2001s Graveyard Amigos and 2003s Roboto Diablos have been played on radio stations all over the United States and as far away as Santiago, Chiles Radio Futura. Their song, Dead In The West was featured in Frightwerks Films Deadhydrated in 2004. You can contact The Names at: [email protected]
