The Weird Happenings Organization

The Weird Happenings Organization was formed late 1988 by Skip and The F.L.S.D.T with the aim of being the most psychedelic freeked out band know man or women. Soon Guz and The S.O.R.P had joined and the band began experimenting. The first gig was an all-dayer at the Thames Poly Cellar bar. After that the band had different people join in on the mayhem; Bert, Craig. Then in 1991 Guz sold his bass just before a big gig and was sacked and replaced by Mick, by this time Craig had also left the band to form the excellent band ‘Psycho's Mum’. A week after Mick joined the band Skip was sent to prison for selling LSD and Paco stepped in to feel the void while he was inside and Del joined for the odd gig. Skip returned to the band six months later but he left not long after that and so did Mick. Paco and Big John joined the band at this point and the band continued playing gigs until the split sometime in 1993.The band sort of reformed for a one off gig in Bristol in 1996 with Guz, The S.O.R.P and Skip along with a few guests playing lounge versions of the old songs and spaghetti west theme tunes.Two people who were very close and important to the band were Tree and Dan the man with the van, he got us everywhere and she danced everywherePhotos by Teresa Lorenzini & Simon Pusey
