Not just another band night! – Indeed not, This one has the Town’s best interests at heart.
Northampton’s oldest music pub is well and truly back on the map! It was once known as the Black Lion where Northampton’s music scene all began. Local Legends Bauhaus were discovered after playing here. This new night is about going back to basics and putting local music first. Too many promoters are quick to think up trendy names and blag about their contribution to the local scene. Putting music before image and ‘egos’ is what we’re about.
The Wig and Pen is located in the town centre of Northampton. Where you will find a warm friendly atmosphere. Our regulars describe it as "the local in the town centre" and it boasts a pleasant covered and heated garden for the benefit of smokers.
We currently have a selection of 8 Real Ale and cider hand pumps. Main stream lagers have been changed to Staropramen and Paulaner. We also have a range of belgian fruit beers.
