I've had the idea to make this songwriters collective in Totnes after attending the 12 songs workshops with Stuart Davis and Julian Marshall this year and this inspired me to initiate a group in which we could share and play our music together, and give support as well as playing live, making recordings etc...I think this will give a very nice atmosphere to help get our music out there without all the pressure and set roles (perhaps) of a 'Band' and we could help each other progress as we play one-anothers songs and individually get recognition from the local community and the music industry (if we want it!).As well as this being hopefully an ongoing thing, I am also making this the basis of my CEP (contextual enquiry project), which will be my final project of my studies at Dartington College Of Arts, this I will officially begin in January although the collective will get off the ground NOW!We will probably be getting support from Dartington Creative Enterprise, amongst others, also we might need to limit the amount of people joining.Of course this is all open to suggestions as well. I think that we might be able to hire out the Freemasons Hall (behind the Civic Hall) for a good price and in order to have meetings/rehearsals/stuff I would ask that we could all put a few quid towards that. So we'll arrange the first meeting soon and then see how it goes from there, like if we want to meet monthly, or bi-monthly?Well I think thats about everything.Lots of love to everyone!Gabz
