Band Members: Maria - Lead Singer
At the age of 12, Maria developed a liking towards jazz music. Now at 18, the youngest in the band, Maria sings with such a unique and versatile voice that it had surprised many people that her voice is so powerful for such a young girl. With Norah Jones being one of her main influences, Maria sings Blues and Jazz with so much passion.
Ethan - Bassist
Ethan started off as a guitar player, but was hooked by the groove and rhythm of the low-ends. Lessons soon begun and he made his debut as a bass player in his church. However, visits to bars and music events further exposed him to different kinds of music, and thus started him on a new musical journey. Today, he plays a wide range of genres, with blues and funk as his favourites.
Yao - Keyboardist
Playing classical piano since the age of 4, Yaoguo had a total change in his playing style when he started playing for church at the age of 16. At that age, his influences grew greatly and he began enjoying and learning different genres of music including jazz, blues, pop and fusion. Besides being a reasonably versatile player, Yao has a soft spot for melancholy and playing slow songs, and adding a jazzy feel to them to back up soulful vocals is his forte. His major influences include Greg Mathieson and Herbie Hancock.
Joseph - Drummer/Percussion
Joseph, has been playing drums since the age of 16, and has performed at festivals such as The Singapore Arts Festival, The Chingay Parade, St.Patrick's Day Festival, Asian Arts Mart, Arts Market at Fort Canning, Hertitage Festival at Suntec City, World Music Month at the Esplanade, as well as other places such as Hard Rock Cafe Singapore, DXO,and more.
Ivan - Saxophonist
Playing Saxophone since a young age, now at 20, Ivan has been exposed and influenced by so many different genres of music ranging from R&B to Jazz to Pop and many more. But as a Saxophonist, Ivan's love for Jazz and Blues remains his main passion.
Fraser - Lead/Rhythm Guitarist
Fraser has been playing guitar since the age of 12 and all throughout, his passion in music was in the 70s and 80s Classic Rock music. After understanding more about the music from that period, Fraser became more exposed to alot more Blues, Soul, Funk, and Jazz. But even until now, at 20, Fraser adds a touch of Classic Rock to his style. With his bluesy heart-ripping tone and solos, you got to be unlucky to leave the show unsatisfied. ;-)
