3rd S.E.T. (Formerly known as Minority Rhythm Records) - When asked about Third S.E.T. Music, Founder/Executive Officer/Vocalist. Justin “JAY” McSwain simply replied, "This label’s goal is to make music that anyone can vibe too. Why settle for just a Hip-Hop Label?” and that is exactly what Third S.E.T. Music is not, just another hip hop label. Third S.E.T. Music was founded in the summer of 2004. As an artist in his own right at the time, JAY had the idea of a label that would have the audacity to cover all aspects of the melodic arts. He shared this idea with another very talented individual, Executive Officer & Producer at 3rd S.E.T., Hunter “D.O.F.A.T.” Alexander. They then contacted another talented young man, a local artist with a couple of albums under his belt, also an Executive Officer of Third S.E.T. Music, James “William Blake” Wade. After a collaborative effort: JAY, D.O.F.A.T., and Blake, established the ins and outs of the label…..and Third S.E.T. Music was founded. After the ground rules were set, the team immediately went into working on their numerous projects. Along with their executive roles: JAY, D.O.F.A.T., and Blake all resumed their roles as artists as well. D.O.F.A.T. and Blake together form the group, “Tipp City”- formally known as Jus Us. The group had noteworthy success with their debut album, "While We Were Sleep”, which was released in the summer of 05’. Following Tipp City’s album, William Blake’s solo debut on 3rd S.E.T., entitled, “The Human Condition”, was also released. Blake, an already accomplished solo artist, displayed his lyrical genius on both of these projects. The idea of completing two albums in such a short period might seem insane to some, but Blake’s response?.. “Get us while we’re young!!!”… In other words, its not insanity, but drive. The acclaimed success of these albums is matched only by the anticipation of those to come. 3rd S.E.T. founder, JAY, is soon to release his debut album, “Brand New”. JAY’s vocal abilities and musicality have launched this album into high anticipation. Without having released an album yet, JAY has managed to establish a fan base EAGER to get their hands on a copy of this project. As JAY is shutting down r&b, Blake and D.O.F.A.T. conquer rap. The intellectual and sick rhymes displayed by lyricists Blake, and D.O.F.A.T. are accompanied by D.O.F.A.T.'s heavy and as sick beats. D.O.F.A.T. is the man behind the production. He manages to develop one ridiculous beat after the other..while also doing his part to run the label. D.O.F.A.T. is currently producing trax for JAY’s heavily anticipated debut album, and is preparing to executive produce projects for recently acquired Third S.E.T. artists Kierra and the Block*Starz. Although other commitments are present, the label continues to be a priority for him. He is focused, “You don’t work, you don’t eat. You don’t grind, you don’t shine.” D.O.F.A.T. avows. There have been many accomplishments since the commencement of Third S.E.T. Music. Two successful albums released, highly anticipated albums to come, fresh new rappers, singers, and poets in production….and it is just getting started. The success is obvious, but something even more obvious to those who come in contact with the executives of Third S.E.T. is their sense of family. JAY, D.O.F.A.T., and Blake are not just business partners, but brothers, and Third S.E.T. is not just another label……… it’s a musical movement….experience the audacity of Third S.E.T. Music!!
