The Mome Raths - 2 new songs up!

About Me

The Mome Raths play raw, poppy, fast, catchy, garage punk rock that you can bust a move to, or at least we try. We like to sing about pretty random stuff. We’re not the best musicians in the world but we make up for it in some way or another. We like to have fun and not take ourselves too serious cause if you ask us the music scene already has enough self obsessed overblown egos to go around.
Ever since the day a buddy of mine gave me a tape with songs on it from lo-fi greats such as supercharger, the mummies, loli and the chones and early donnas, I have wanted to make that kind of music, music with raw attitude and emphasis on the feeling behind it rather then the polished production quality. This was punk rock like I had never heard it before and yes while some bands of this genre are extremely messy and obnoxious in the amount of noise in their recording; it only adds to the complete disregard for pre conceived notions of what punk rock should be that so many people place on it. And so Influenced by (but by no means claiming to be as good as) the great lo-fi garage punk rock bands that went before us The Mome Raths look to revive that lost art of writing a catchy, yet somewhat ruff around the edges, rock song. Not trying to look pretty or turn heads with amazing musical skills, The Mome Raths simply wanna make you dance and rock out to good old fashion punk rock, the way it was meant to be played: Loud, Fast, and raw.
Beware the Jabberwock!
