In 1989, 60 people in a basement club in Limerick,Ireland, were privileged to witness the first public performance of the Cranberries.Less than 5 years later and several thousand miles away, the very same four-piece line-up was wowing many thousands at Woodstock 94, a massive event held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the legentary festival.
This remarkable rise to fame and fortune was fuelled by the creative combination of guitarist Noel Hogan, his brother Mike Hogan on bass their good friend Fergal Lawler on drums and the latest addition to the group,the little girl with the enormous beautiful and unique voice and the unlimited talent to writing lyrics. She could talk straight ahead to people's soul, the girl from the small town Ballybricken, 8 miles away from Limerick, the one which the 3 boys chose to replace their singer til then (Nial Quinn) when he decided to leave the band..
Dolores O'Riordan was the last link to this compination..she took the band out of the basement, she aproved their talent and brought them to tour worldwise, play in front of thousand people, touring with mega bands and having a contract with Island Records in 1991...
the 4 of them started the journey back then..
Summer of 2000 and after many awards,4 successful albums with million sales worldwide, 3 mega-tours (though the 3rd was cancelled),few ups and downs.. the Cranberries returned on the road and Greece was one of the lucky countries who were included on the "Loud and Clear" tour..
Seven years later, after one more album (wake up and smell the coffee),a best of (Stars), a band's breaking up to follow different ways Dolores O Riordan returns with her unmistakable voice with her stunning debut solo album Are You Listening?.
The news were well accepted everywhere in the world where she travelled to satisfied her fans who were waiting breathless to see her in action again. Greece was one of those countries.
