Last Years Losers is no longer surprised with the ups and downs of the Denver music scene. Founded in 2001 by Brandon Gishwiller (vocals/guitar) and Chad Gilbert (bass), LYL was completed with the addition of Chris "Max" Yakacki (lead guitar) in fall 2003 and Eric Wood (drums) in summer 2005. LYL has experienced success with 2 albums (Lack of Interest, Forgive Me Father for I Have Rocked), producing 1 local compilation ( WOW! That's What I Call Denver vol.1 ), winning at the sold out Hard Rock Cafe Battle of the Bands 2004, being roadies on the Warped Tour, filming 2 videos, and playing some of the best venues in Denver (Gothic Theater, The Ogden Theater, The Soiled Dove). However, LYL has experienced their fair share of twists, turns, and tragedies that never diminished their dedication to their music. After a serious accident while heading to South by Southwest that totaled their truck and trailer, LYL performed at the Gothic Theater the very next week. Another show went on 3 days after Max wrecked his motorcycle and sprained his wrist. A major trial was faced in spring 2005 when LYL asked former drummer, Jason , to leave the band. "It was difficult decision but was best for both him and the band" Chad recalls. In a peculiar twist of fate, Max's former drummer and good friend Eric was looking for a new band at the same time. I never thought we'd play together again after I was forced to kick him out!" Eric laughs.
Relentless in their pursuit and dedication, Last Years Losers continues to offer great live performances of their unique blend of rock, punk, emo, and pop that is often described as Alkaline Trio meets MxPx and Slash.

LYL FAREWELL LETTER
Hey Everyone,Brandon here from LYL. I am writing this letter to let everyone know that LYL will be on indefinite hiatus (fancy schmancy for breaking up).
Eric has been given an incredible opportunity to join the band, The Cover. They are signed to Rushmore records and are going to be touring the countryside. We couldn't be happier for Eric and wish him the best of luck.
Chris 'Max' will be graduating with his PHD soon so we all decided that the entity of Last Years Losers would be relinquished.
LYL has accomplished so much the past few years and its all thanks to our awesome fans, and the growing scene in Denver which has some amazing talent. A very special thank you to D.O.R.K. for all their support, we love you guys and if anyone reading this hasn't checked them out yet get off your ass and do it, they are going to be huge. Also a giant thank you to RedLine Defiance, No Fair Fights, Saving Verona, More than Medium, Big Green Lime, Rubber Planet, The Trampolines, and Mark Sundermeir. And anyone else we missed, you know who you are. I have an un-ending supply of great memories on and off stage with all those fuckers.
None of the members of LYL have any hard feelings about the breakup. We think of each other as brothers and know that everything happens for a reason. We will continue to support the scene and each other.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone who ever came to a show, bought a cd, or supported us in any way, shape, or form. Keep in touch with us. You can find us on myspace or email us. We love you all and will miss you.
Shalom
Brandon
