About Me
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dean realized at a very early age
that music was his life's calling. It was after years of daydreaming and
living room "concerts" at the age of eleven that Dean received a gift from his
father that would change his life, a twelve string acoustic guitar. Dean's dad,
an accomplished singer, guitarist, bassist and entertainer in his own right,
had a successful career in the late 1950's and the early 1960's during the very early days of Rock N' Roll, touring the Northeastern United States with his own band. It must be in the blood.After learning a few basic chords from his father, Dean began to form a
relationship with the guitar that would borderline on obsession. Practicing up to eight or ten hours a day, applying Band-Aids to the fingertips when they
started to bleed, and very often sleeping with his instrument. After years of garage and high school bands, and a lot of wood shedding, Dean began his education on the road with over twenty different bands. Most of the "A" circuit bands were regarded as some of the most popular and viable of the local groups at the time.In 1995, Dean was given the opportunity to audition for Brian Howe. Howe, the former lead vocalist of the monster group Bad Company, was putting a band together for his first solo tour. After receiving a tape, two days of practice, and an audition later, he had the gig. For almost 14 years he has been a member of the original band, playing almost every state in the U.S., and completing several international tours which have included South America, Korea, Spain, Canada, Mexico, the UK, and Japan.
In addition to the Brian Howe band, Dean performs in the Central Florida area with his acoustic duo "Da Boys". He is available for studio work, and is always eager to lend his distinctive style to a recording session. He is also working on material for several other projects.
