Carl Worner

About Me

Former Broadway actor and Capitol Records recording artist Carl Worner was the lead vocalist of the power pop/new wave band The Elektrics which he formed in 1979 and within a year was signed to a multi-album deal with Capitol Records. They released two albums, Current Events and State Of Shock, both were critically well received. Based in the New York/New Jersey area they opened for bands like The Motels, The Shirts, The Pyschedelic Furs, Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper and toured the east coast with Robert Palmer. The Elektrics disbanded in 1982 but Carl continued recording new songs with Elektrics guitarist Marco Delmar and in 1991 they produced the unreleased album "Walking On The Palm..". Selections from that album can be heard on this webpage. In the mid 90's Carl co-wrote a rock musical entitled "Sandcastles" which was performed as a workshop production in NYC. Carl is currently working on a new CD entitled "No Justice" which is co-produced by Gary Georgett. He also hosts an internet radio show "What's It Called?" and "The Beat Of The Beatles" on www.HomeGrownRadioNJ.org every Monday evenings from 7-9:30pm. His free form radio show features comedy, in depth interviews and live performances by new indie recording artists. Recent interviews include former Beatle drummer Pete Best & Davy Jones of The Monkees. Check out the Myspace page at Myspace.com/whatsitcalledradio. You can also hear many of his shows and radio plays as podcasts on www.cyberears.com. Carl is currently producing an audio book for poet James Bianco which will soon be available. plain layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments HTML content to post goes here (e.g. text, images, objects, etc.)" / Share on MySpace!
