The Atlanta Songwriters Showcase Series is a regular performance event for all types of music, held each Saturday night from 8:00pm - 12 midnight at Kavarna in the historic Oakhurst area of Decatur, Georgia. We feature folk, blues, electronic, jazz, rock, instrumental, americana, and spoken word. Check out our calender for upcoming performers.
Atlanta Songwriters is brought to you by Brad Jones and Jim Combs, the team awarded Creative Loafing's Best of Atlanta 2007 "Best Place to Hear Music for Free". Marcellus (Mark Cornwell) has also joined the hosting team. One of us takes the reins each Saturday night to make your evening an enjoyable experience (along with the fine folks at Kavarna). Sets start at 8, 9, 10 and 11 p.m., and last 45 minutes. We provide the sound system, mics, stands, etc., and run sound. Pay consists of a small food/drink tab for each performer. You may put out a tip jar, and also sell merchandise, if you like.
