"There are many indie bands in and around London who ive seen but these guys put a twist to their music which is completely new and fresh. At just thirteen its almost hard to pinpoint the exact reason why they have clicked and played so well together." Hoxtown Records

"Catchy, Big, Awesome. But they are so, so much more than that".

"Move over, Pull-In-the-Lo-fi-Culture-Scene's-Emergency-One-Trick-Chimer a-Rouging-Band! Catalan Corruption are on their way to dominating the all age scene upstaging bands twice their age and no doubtably twice their size. Its only a matter of time before NME gets their dirty mits on em"- myspace.com/popgoestheweaselgigs

As the teen band craze sweeps through the world, there are a lot of new acts to pay attention to. Catalan Corruption, doesn't fall into the trap most bands comprised of kids their age do. Their songs are well constructed, the song content isn't about their various pets, and loud doesn't equal good to them. Everything about this band tells you to keep an eye on them in the future. They're already great at ages 14, it's hard to imagine just how much better they'll get in the coming years. This is a band that will take hold not only of their current scene, but the stages to come.

Whats going on with Catalan?

So we have just been in the studio and we managed to record two songs a new one called The Orange Tree and randomly we decided to re record Your Loss, just because the recordig of it at the moment is not up to scratch. We are curretly still writing another two songs one which is near the finishing stage and the other which is really in it's early stages, were planning to go back into the studio in a few weeks or maybe a month to record either both the new songs or just one depends if we work hard in band practice. So altogether that will leave you lot with 3 new songs to listen to!

So gigs. We have some coming up but we cant anounce them right now, but one thing we can say is one of them is going to be absouloutly incredible... if all goes to plan.

Finally make sure you come down to one of our gigs in the near future!

live review: Roundhouse Studio, Camden - 28 June 2008

After the flurry of gigs early in the year, this support slot at the Roundhouse Studio was Catalan Corruption's first full electric band show for three months (less one day, but let's not quibble).&nb...

live review: The Enterprise, Camden - 10 May 2008 (acoustic set)

Upon entering the music room, upstairs at The Enterprise in Camden, the first thing to strike me was the large number of really rather big gaps inbetween the floorboards through which you co...

live review: Purple Turtle, Camden - 29 March 2008

This was a new venture by Cal McCrae, ace photographer, guitarist with the Berlin Girls and altogether very nice person.  The idea, I think, was to put on a varied line up of young talent in...

live review: The Luminaire, Kilburn - 22 March 2008

I was always going to be at the Disco Rejects show at The Luminaire on Easter Saturday, but it was originally to see Lo-Fi Culture Scene play their first all-ages gig for many months.  Unfortunat...

live review: Cross Kings, Kings Cross - 15 March 2008

A bit of a strange night this one.  There were lots of things to quibble about, many of which boiled down in the end to the fact that the venue was too small for the sort of night that most peopl...

live review: Bar Monsta, Camden - 18 January 2008

Well, it had been a bloody long wait. It seemed like years had passed (although in fact it was only 97 days) since Catalan Corruption had put their four catchy, original, very well formed and expertly...

catalan review!

Often, when one finds power in guitars and vocals of a teenage band, the driving force is angst. Catalan Corruption is not a victim to this trap that young bands tend to fall into. Their driving forc...
