Hycin Jo

Hycin Jo's love for music began when he was a toddler. As a toddler he was known for stealing, listening, and literally scratching his aunts, and older brothers vinyl records. During his pre-teen years he would always visit his older cousins who were local dj's. The decision to become a dj happened when at the age of 12 his parents finally allowed him to accompany his older cousins to a party that they were djing. The way his cousins manipulated the crowd and the way the women approached his cousins, convinced a young Hycin Jo that he wanted to be a DJ. Hycin Jo's djing career officially began in high school when he joined his high schools radio station. The dj path continued into college where he also started djing at New England area colleges. In college, is also where Hycin Jo met his band mate Illin' P. This is also when the passion for music production developed. Post college, Hycin Jo built a reputation as a ground breaking dj , spinning at every major club in the Greater Boston area. Hycin Jo also built a steady reputation as a producer who strayed away from the norm. His beat producing skills were always categorized as being melodic, bordering the styles of many musical genres. Hycin Jo has contributed works for a number of independent projects including films, cartoons, television, radio, and advertising commercials. Hycin Jo is currently finalizing a long anticipated instrumental project, and is also set to release a series of mixed cds' for the spring/summer of 2009.
