Rescue Me(theme song)- CMon CMon -
I left the Southern California congestion and pretentious fake people behind and have relocated back to my beloved Northern California as of March 2008. Donna and I have settled into the green and beautiful Santa Clara Valley and I have finally made my passion my paid profession. I started my new position with Kaiser's brand new hospital & medical center campus in Santa Clara on March 10th and life is awesome!
As for my interests; I enjoy many activities, most of which involve the outdoors; I love nature, SCUBA diving, hiking, camping, day trips with a splash, cultural events like art walks & concerts, browsing book shops & antique stores. I like to cook, go wine tasting and take road trips to places like Ojai, Santa Barbara or Sonoma County where I grew up on a farm as a kid. Basically, enjoying the pleasures of good company, good cuisine and good wine are three of my favorite pastimes.
I am a career professional, driven and successful, but I also enjoy play time away from work. I am multi faceted, and possess a very diverse personality... I can go from 501's and boots, to Ralph Lauren in about 2.2 seconds and I can hold my own in any social setting. A technical author and published poet, I am well read, articulate and well written. I am adventurous and outgoing, worldly wise, open minded, uninhibited, reflective, compassionate and very perceptive. I have a great sense of humor, albeit sometimes dry, but as I get comfortable it makes itself more apparent. I am not perfect, I have made serious mistakes in my life, but that is the continuous improvement process called learning.
My greatest attribute is my depth of character. I can say with confidence that I am not like anyone you have ever met before. I was born on Beltane - 1968, my mother was born & raised in Holland so I grew up instilled with old European values and maturities. My father's side traces back over three hundred years to Ireland with some Native American Indian, hence my strong Celtic heritage and my deep connection to nature and the earth. I'm a little European Renaissance, a little new age man. I am old fashioned in that I still insist on opening doors and walking on the curbside of the sidewalk and I practice chivalry as a way of life, even if sometimes I seem the last bastion of its existence. I believe "the gentle mind by gentle deed is known, for nowhere is a man so well bewrayed as by his manners." -Edmund Spenser
I strongly feel that life is too short, and too precious, to spend it unhappy. My doctrine in life is to live it fully, to love well, and with deep intimacy every day. I dare to dream, and I am guided, sometimes driven, by an ache to take the necessary risks that will allow me to experience the exquisite beauty and the bone wrenching sorrow that is the adventure of being fully alive.A GLIMPSE INSIDE MY LIFE
