About Me
I was born and raised in West Burlington, IA, and after graduating in '96, I spent the next three years in various cities (L.A., Chicago, Miami) trying to establish myself as a model/actor. Although it was a fun and learning experience that allowed me to grow as a person, I always found myself wanting to be back with my high-school sweetheart.
Heather and I started dating when I was a junior and she was a sophomore. Our first date was that year's prom. We kicked it off without a hitch and it became the first day of the rest of our relationship. We were married in 2000 and spent a year in Wichita, KS just to get out on our own for a while. We had planned to move down to Florida where I had some family that we could live with for a bit until we got ourselves situated. We both had schools we were going to attend and the moving truck had already been paid for. Two weeks before our moving date, we found out that Heather was pregnant. Nobody can know the feeling of finding out you're going to have a baby, until it actually happens. We were both excited and terrified at the same time. We always knew that if we ever got pregnant, we'd move back home to be where our family was and in a place that we were familiar and comfortable with. So it was back to West Burlington. The next five years brought us three beautiful children, 2 girls and a boy, named Raven Skyy, Raine Starr, and Shaden Randal (named after my dad, Randal). It may seem cliche to hear a parent say that their kids are the best things to ever happen to them, but that's only because when you're a parent, it's true. I could never imagine my life would be so fulfilling, but now I couldn't imagine it to be any different.
Heather and I have been together for 12 years now and married for over 7. It really has been the best and the worst years of our lives. But I can say that the hard stuff life throws at you is more than worth it to experience all the awesome stuff that comes along as well.
