Born in Stockport England, Played with guitars since he was four years old and is self taught. Moved to Bristol, England in 2000 where, with the encouragement from his better half Anne, got stuck in and concentrated trying new (to him) techniques and tunings. His love of the 12 string guitar stems from a night in the seventies when he saw Leo Kottke play on T.V. Being in the north of England at that time, getting hold of music by the likes of Kottke was impossible up until the advent of the internet. Then he was able to delve deeper into the music of kottke and also discovered other fine guitarists hitherto unknown to him. This opened up a whole new world to the extent that the likes of Preston Reed, Doyle Dykes, Chet Atkins and many more guitar masters now influence his playing style and compositions, one of which was used in a Scottish wildlife tv show a few years back. He dont do singing and 12 String remains his first love.
