About Me

NEW TRACKS ARE UP ON MY WEBPAGE!!!! ( HERE !!!!)
I haven't redone my profile in ages. So here goes a complete revamping... up there is my typical webpage plug. There is SO much information on my webpage... I have ledgers that describe every month of my life back to 1996. My myspace blog is also quite entertaining... I think...
I am a COMPOSER/ LYRICIST. Also an ACCOMPANIST. Also a VOCAL COACH.
I play for AUDITIONS, so if you're an actor, that's probably why I look familiar -- recently I've been hired by TARA RUBIN a lot, so I'm there for Spelling Bee and Spamalot frequently. I also play for a LOT of regional theatres, etc.
Vocal coaching is my new bag. I do an audition workshop for 4 weeks every few months to help people prepare for auditions and sing in a safe environment in front of people. Privately, I have been very in demand lately -- my specialities include REPERTOIRE BUILDING -- I have 20,000 mp3s (1200 cds!), and so I'm good at REVAMPING someone's BOOK. I also play auditions so often that I KNOW what songs are OVERDONE, so I throw those in the trash for people. I can also RECORD onto CD, so I put a lot of people's books on CDs since I can SIGHT READ anything (including SONDHEIM scores! and the Light in the Piazza! and the anything JRB!). I'm also good w/ helping people find their journies -- and I cut through bullshit. I can tell if you're faking (that goes for girls in bed, too!). I believe it is far more important to connect, emote and act, then to scream notes. If you make the people behind the table care about you, they'll want to hire you. That's all the free advice I'll give, but come for a session, and you'll see I know what I'm doing -- I actually have coached a few clients before the auditions that got them Equity cards, and sometimes even their Broadway debuts. :) :) Furthermore, I do transcriptions. And I am very good at finding a perfect 16 or 32 bar cut. I also give out my music to clients for free. Check out my webpage for samples. Popular songs include the 32 bar blues (which is exactly 32 bars and is adjustable), Subway Paranoia, I'd Rather Take a Nap, and The Fag Hag Lament.
In other news, I'm a really fun, gregarious, ebullient, intelligent, talented, and sensitive guy. And yes, against all stereotypes, I'm straight.
I got 2 Bachelors from MIT, 1 Masters from NYU, have written 3 musicals and 4 cabaret acts. Again, I'll mention that tracks are up at sethbh.com !!!
Current projects include writing my 5th act for 2007, Why Am I Not Famous Yet: an act of bitter frustration and a Broadway musical based on a movie that we don't have the rights to yet, so I can't talk about it publicly...
So I guess that's enough about me for now... feel free to add me, message me, or IM me at SethBH42 on AOL. I am a BIG myspace WHORE and LOVE meeting new people/ fans.
So I took one of those stupid survey things, I think summer 2005, and I think most is still true, though I haven't been dumped in awhile since I have been happily single since May 2005:
