Trains and railroads are my passion. You point out a train, and I can tell you almost anything about it. I love to watch them, hear them, photograph them, and build models of them. I don't really expect a great many people would understand that, but hey...it's me. It's my defining passion. I love going to the club and dancing with my friends, and hearing new versions of my favorite songs, and new music altogether. Music soothes me, inspires me, focuses me, and often defines me. More about that later. I also like to draw...even though it's not something I do often. I also like playing with photos in photoshop.I've always had an interest in superhero comics, but as of late, I've migrated more to the different TV shows of them rather than the comic books. My favorites are Justice League, Batman, XMen, and Spiderman.
I'd like to meet:
People who aren't afraid to be themselves, and aren't afraid to have fun. Intelligence is a plus, because a deep conversation is something I love. Say hi sometime...you never know where it will go!
Music:
Like I said before, music means very much to me. My boyfriend often complains that I don't have enough variety in my music because I have mostly female singers. Well I say this: If a guy comes out with a deep, meaningful song with an almost haunting melody, I probably already have it. Girls tend to have more songs like that, which are my favorite! Artists like Vanessa Carlton, Dido, Five for Fighting, Mandy Moore, and Evanescence make up a huge portion of my collection. I also have a thing for good quality Euro-Pop music, such as A*Teens, Backstreet Boys, N*Sync, and BBMak. I've recently acquired a taste for a new breed of music as well, such as Imogen Heap, Kate Havnevik, and others. I love going to the clubs to hear new music! Other artists include Sarah McLachlin, Ben Jelen, LFO, Reba MacIntyre (yes I like country too), Allison Krauss, Michelle Branch, Hillary Duff, Madonna, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, Sara Evans, John Mayor, Beyonce, and the list goes on! I will basically listen to anything not hard rock, and not rap. And they say I'm not Ikelctic...*eyeroll*Aside from listening to music, I also enjoy playing the piano and singing...something I did in a band for a few years back home.
Movies:
I love a good movie. Nothing is better on a cold or rainy day! Or if you just wanna cuddle up with a friend and relax! I will watch (and probably buy) any movie with Mandy Moore or Jodie Foster. I love them both! Some of my favorites are Flight Plan, A Walk to Remember, How to Deal, Contact, and The King and I. Other movies I love are Brokeback Mountain, Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, X-Men, The Island, Enchanted, Stardust, and Enough. I also love Disney! My Favorites are The Aristicats, Oliver and Company, Cinderella, and Finding Nemo
Television:
My two favorite shows in the whole world are Kyle XY and Lost. I recently got to meet Chelan Simmons and Jaimie Alexander from Kyle XY which was a real highlight to my year so far! I also love Family Guy and Will & Grace. Gotta love Karen...she always makes me laugh! I'm a Sci Fi geek, so shows like Surface and the 4400 are great. I also love to watch Grey's Anatomy, Dawson's Creek, and Queer as Folk. I will watch almost any cartoon...haha. I'm just a big kid! I love watching superhero cartoons like Batman, Justice League, Spiderman, and XMen.
Books:
The "Odd" Series (Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, and Brother Odd)by Dean Koontz is amazing! The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson...very awesome...Frontiers and Firelands by Michael Jenson are both great LGBT novels as well.
Heroes:
I admire anyone who's brave enough to be themselves. So many people hide who they really are out of fear of other people. I say screw that...haha. Be yourself! To me, it's a sin to hide who you were made to be! My personal heroes include Jesus Christ (not the gay-hating war making political tool of the Right...but rather the outcast subersive supreme adept who preferred the freaks and lepers and despised and doomed to the rich and powerful), my mother, my grandparents (who celebrated 50 recently!), Reba MacIntyre, Vanessa Carlton, and anyone not afraid to stand up for a good cause!
