Right from the 60s my biggest passion has been music. Either listening to it or working with the artists who make it. I'm not a musician and when I say working with artists I mean either publishing fanzines for them, running fan clubs, touring with them which to me is the only thing I want to do in life as a job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DARE: My biggest achievement was in the late 80s/early 90s running a fan club and publishing magazines for a band called 'DARE' who had a record deal with A&M. Main man Darren Wharton was in the band Thin Lizzy playing keyboards. Going on tour with Dare was fantastic so I have great memories of that time. Dare toured with big names like Jimmy Page, Europe & Gary Moore. I still run a music forum on Yahoo at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DarrenWharton_Dare and they still release cd's. See Dare in my 'top friends' on here to listen to their sounds. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SMALL FACES: I also now run a Yahoo music forum based on my all time favouritre 60s band the Small Faces besides publishing fanzines for them in the past. You can find this forum at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SmallFaces/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ because of my E-groups I have made many friends and brought many friends together but I think one of the most rewarding projects I have done with the groups is the transcribing of all the Small Faces lyrics, from the Decca period right through the 'Immediate' years [My favourite]. Transcribing those lyrics, mono and stereo versions, alternate takes and all the songs the Small Faces covered just took me in to another dimension - absolutely awesome! Mostly rewarding as well because i had help off Small Face himself - Ian Mclagan plus help off the first lady of 'Immediate' - PP Arnold. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PAUL WELLER: My work on the lyrics which has been 3 years on and off has recently paid off because I was asked to supply all the lyrics for Paul Weller and John Hellier's book "Here Come The Nice". Paul Weller has chosen his 15 favourite Small Faces tracks adding chords plus John Hellier is writing a biography for the book plus adding trivia, pictures, etc - and me the lyrics!! Ace or what! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also now write music reviews/stories and have my own column in the established [London based] Small Faces quarterly book "The Darlings Of Wapping Wharf". You can view/buy the books here: http://www.wappingwharf.comAnyway, that's what I mostly do with my time. As for "About Me" personally, I think i'm a genuine loyal sort of guy who makes friends easily and treats people as they treat me. It's nice to be nice.
