Eclectic. And everytime I say that word (or type it) I want to slide around and do a dance... anyways, I like all sorts of things and, not in any particular order, my kids, computers, karaoke, engineering, martial arts, swimming, walks, nature, fishing, music, good food and drink, going places, the beach (hello Rocky Point and San Diego!), reading fantasy, science in general, video games, and the list could go on and on and on and on... But those are the ones that first came to mind.
Gimmer a holler if you are the kind of person that enjoys stimulating conversation. If you aren't negative, if you are interesting, if you can light a room up with joy and your presence lingers after you leave. If you have obvious and hidden strengths and depths that you have not yet fully explored but are unafraid to face. And, finally, if you are the kind of person YOU would want to be friends with then you should message me.
Nickelback, The Killers, Gary Allen, Eminem, Moby, Pink, 3 Doors Down, Willie Nelson, Dierks Bentley, Beastie Boys, Puddle of Mudd, Def Lepard, Sarah McClaughlan, Foo Fighters, Run DMC, Megadeath, Bowling for Soup, Johnny Cash, John Williams, Tom Jones, Jim Reeves, George Jones, Sir Mix-A-Lot, John Conlee, Alan Jackson, George Strait, Ludacris, SheDaisy, Patsy Cline, Metallica, Bonnie Raitt, Bonnie Tyler, Norah Jones, Madeline Peyroux, ABBA ... and more. My musical interests cover a wide area but opera, gangsta rap, and speed metal are OUT.
I actually don't watch a lot of movies or, for that matter, TV. But some of my favorite ones are .... The Matrix, The Princess Bride, Scent of a Woman, Jerry Maguire, Spaceballs, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, stupid kung-fu movies either intentionally dumb (Kung Pao, Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) or just bad ones, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Sky High, Toy Story, Office Space, , (some) Anime, The Professional, Spiderman
I don't really watch much TV. Shows I do like but don't try to catch on regular basis are.... Avatar cartoon series, Justice League cartoon series, Fairly Oddparents (my kids like to watch cartoons and I'll watch them with them), Law and Order... and that's about it. Usually if I turn the TV on, it's going on a music channel (VH1, MTV, CMT, MHD).
So I don't watch much TV, what do I do instead? Well, I read... a lot. I prefer fantasy but I read science fiction, science fact, magazines, comic books, contemporary, thrillers, and, sometimes, even a murder mystery. Some of my favorite books/series are The Wheel of Time, The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever, The Hobbit, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, almost ANYTHING by Neil Gaiman (American God, Anansi Boys, Neverwhere, etc), Discworld, What is Quantum Mechanics (which I loaned out and STILL haven't gotten back), In Search of Schrodingers Cat (dated but good basic info), Belgariad and Mallorean series, Anne Bishop's Blood series, Y - The Last Man (comic book), The Sandman (another comic and one of the best damn stories I have ever read), Discover magazine, Scientific American, almost anything by Heinlein (Starship Troopers, Starman Jones, Friday, etc), Neal Stephenson novels (Cryptonomicon, The Diamond Age, Snow Crash) and that's just a start. I like books that make me think and I like stories that make me care.
My dad is my hero. One of the toughest and most resourceful men I've known, he's taught me many things through both good example and bad. Ok, enough sap! Keep reading down!
