This page is mainly related to my music involvement in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, so if you are interested in other areas, find me on Facebook.I've been involved in music performance of some kind nearly all my life. A few years ago, a friend talked me into getting back into playing bass in a small group with talent but not much else. One thing led to another, including my moving back to the North Texas area, and all of a sudden I'm playing in Deep Ellum with the Tequila Snortin' Llamas. (Okay, I left out a few things leading to others...) For various reasons, that group trailed off. I went through a couple of start-up bands trying to get back in front of people with other musicians that are at least as good as me (preferably better). Next long-term incarnation was Runaway Twang -- I had stalked them because they were rehearsing just a couple miles away from my house, but that changed along with other personnel shortly after I joined in. Nonetheless, we were a really good band and stayed together for a couple years or more. I wanted to play more than the rest of that band could (I'm the old guy with the empty nest -- they still had parent-teacher meetings and soccer games to deal with), so I agreed to a request from another musician to join a more active band -- WyndKreek. That was a really good set of players, too, but we ran into some internal issues that left me out looking again. Through a former drummer, I heard that Randy Allen was needing to replace a bass player who was needing to take some time off. So I've been with Randy Allen and One Shot since then (May? 2008). Playing nearly every weekend, making enough money to pay for itself and working with really good musicians/performers.Musician at heart; Chemist by training; Engineer by necessity; Son and Brother by my good fortune; Husband and Father by my choice and their grace.
