Hi folks !! I'm Danny tatum. Born in the peach state December 27, 1966. I'm not very good at this sort of thing so try to hang with me . I came from a musical family. My dad played guitar and dobro. My older brother Alan played guitar and my mom played drums. Though she didn't play as often as the rest of the family, she was a very talented musician. So anyway I guess it goes back to that old saying. You learn what you live. So it was. I started with drums at nine years old. With saxaphone at eleven and guitar at thirteen. Piano was in there somewhere but I dont remember where. I played drums in the very first band I was in called Aftermath. Then it was on to a band called Georgia Rhythm . From there it was to the Canton Moose lodge with a band called Southern Sounds. I was the ripe old age of fourteen and by this time had seen the bar fights and had my first taste of what to do and what not to do in bar. Like dont let em know your fourteen LOL !! I had been playing guitar for about a year at this time and was trying to juggle two to three bands at a time between a highschool band and the bar bands I was in, there wasn't much time for my skateboard. By the time I was sixteen I had taken up flute and was really enjoying that because the guitar and the flute were very close in how to approach each instrument. By this time my younger brother Greg had started playing Guitar and went on to become a great guitarist. I loved the idea of grooves and alot of the native sounds of the drums, but I yearned to be able to create melodies. Tones fascinated me. So I dug more into my saxaphone and flute and guitar to feed that hunger for songs. So anyway, to make a long story alittle easier for you guys to bare, I went on to do some sessions and some road work with a guy named P.J. Hawk who had an indie deal in Nashville and have boiled everything down to guitar and some piano. I am currenly playing in the Carla Tatum band, and yes we are related. Carla is my wife and the greatest singer I have ever had the honor of working with. We're doing a C.D. together and it is going really well . OHHH !!! Also check out Carla Tatum in my friends list . It will take you to her Myspace site and you will see what I mean. Anyway, thanks to Cathy Hancock, My Mom and dad and my brother Alan for giving me the gift of music. I am very blessed to have people that inspire every note that I play. Thanks for putting up with my typing and spelling and rambling. God Bless !!!!
