Serenades for Amy is fairly new contribution to the Norwegian music scene. Unlike many other young bands today, these boys just want to play catchy pop music. With members having different musical backgrounds, from soul, gospel and funk to blues and rocknroll, they have all the capabilities of bringing an interesting mix.The band started when Øistein, the drummer, was on holidiay and met Marius.. roommate, through him they got togheter and started talking about what kind of music they wanted to play. One thing led to another and Øistein called his friend, and vocalist from former projects Thomas. He immediately kicked on the idea of joining a new band with these boys. But they were struggling finding a bassist and a keyboard player. It seemed they were in a slow period when Øistein was working at a festivalstand, and there he met a guy who played bass. They started talking and Øistein mentioned that they had a band and were looking for a bassist, and suddenly Eirik was onboard. Soon after, Eirik called his good friend Hans Kristian who was a keys player and he was onboard too. They started playing and making songs, and have been ever since. After doing alot of shows these past months, including playing regularly at Cafe Sør and doing Studentcruise, they are taking a break from shows to focus on their writing. Hopefully a album will be on its way during the course of the summer, and youll see them doing a show nearby.Serenades for Amy is fairly new contribution to the Norwegian music scene.
