My name is Chris Schlotzhauer. I have been a musician most of my life. Although I still work a day job, I consider my music to be my full-time pursuit. Most musicians I know have never done anything else. That's why they are the best. Me, however, started out working full time as an electrician and giging at night and weekends. I guess once you get used to a certain lifestyle and accumulate overhead, it's hard to go backward with income. So as soon as my ship comes in musically, I'll quit my day job (better hurry somebody, my clock is ticking). The good news is, I've been blessed with playing with the greatest artists in Texas, or anywhere else for that matter. I have toured with Pat Green, Charlie Robison, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Cory Morrow, Ed Burleson and others. I also play guitar, sing and dabble in songwriting. In fact, playing guitar and singing was my main thing for years. The steel guitar thing came about totally by accident. For the past 6 years I've been touring with the Derailers, playing steel guitar and singing. I think they are the greatest band in country music. Don't get me wrong, there are tons of great country bands, but none with the edge and sparkle these guys have. I've toured all over the country, Europe, and played the Grand 'Ol Opry several times with them. I have also recorded on their last 3 albums, "Soldiers of Love, Under The Influence of Buck, and our newest release, Guaranteed to Satisfy". We are currently touring this new album and getting great response. I will continue to pursue this path until I can no longer rock, or 'till they pat me in the face with a shovel, because I love what I do.Peace ..
