Groom is a pop band from Dublin whose members are Mike, Wil, Brian, Jeroen and Ruan. With three albums under their belt to date: ‘Stitch’ (2004) and ‘All This Happened, More Or Less’ (2006) and ‘At The Natural History Museum’ (2009—out now on US label Tight Ship Records), a fourth is due in March 2010. Groom have played loads of gigs all over Ireland, and are planning on a short tour in Belgium in early 2010, all the while getting audiences to sing/clap/kiss along to their synthy pop/rock songs, calling each other names on stage and sometimes even handing out sweets. And they’ll continue to work hard on their music, because they’re also quite serious, intelligent fellows with an earnest outlook and a strong work ethic. Some of them even wear glasses.
Groom have played gigs with Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Deanna Varagona (Lambchop), Suburban Kids With Biblical Names, Evangelicals, as well as lots of other great Irish and European acts, including Crevecouer, Thinguma*jigSaw, Carol Keogh, Spook of the 13th Lock, Mumblin’ Deaf Ro, and many more.

…What just some people have said about At the Natural History Museum:
“the album is so delicately, perfectly composed and performed, it’s hard not to become completely enveloped in its magic†– Dee O’Brien, News of the World
"feels like the soundtrack to a short Wes Anderson film...a really excellent album that I can imagine being in my top 5 at the end of the year" - The Monsters Are Not Real
“…songs that sound like they were plucked from the bosom of the early '90s indiepop scene… Combined with Mike Stevens' sometimes-fragile vocals and wonderfully wry, occasionally poignant lyrics, there's lots for fans of wordy, intelligent indie-pop to like here.†– Lauren Murphy, Entertainment.ie
“…a truly wonderful band…charming, beautiful pop songs…†– Viva Indie Rock
“The title track from their forthcoming album 'At the Natural History Museum', an epic nine minutes long, is a nailed on curio with its mix of spacey intro merging into a bucolic Tyrannosaurus Rex (i.e. when T-Rex were folkies) dittie before culminating in a barrage of grade A riffage.†– Artrocker/The Devil Has the Best Tuna
“Stevens's vocal stylings and, indeed, lyrics, are best described as the result of Neil Young and Kate Bush's lovechild snorting the ashes of Elliott Smith†– Key Notes/Cluas
“…they offer up something sadly missing on the Dublin scene….I could listen to it all day in fact.†– Mp3hugger
