About Me
What's up, everyone? My name is Alex Hernandez. I was born April 27, 1983. I was born and raised in Miami, FL. My parents/grandparents were born and raised in Cuba. I'm fluent in Spanish and I can get by in American Sign Language. I am an Audio Engineer and musician. I have been playing the guitar since September of 1994. I attended Full Sail Real World Education in Winter Park, FL and graduated with an Associates of Science Degree in Recording Arts. I moved back to Miami where i started working at Big Sound Studio with Mickey Chevalier as an Assistant Engineer doing odds and ends in the studio. There, I met Roberto Morales (Grammy Award Winner writer/producer for Enrique Iglesias.) I went to his studio, West Sound Studio in Hialeah, FL, to help him with a session and ended up staying there for two years as House Engineer until work started dying down. I've recorded rock (english & spanish), hip-hop (english and spanish), pop (english & spanish), salsa, merengue, acoustic sets (english & spanish), and religious solos. I, also, started working for my friend David Superville and his film production company, Superville Productions (www.myspace.com/supervilleproductions or www.superville.net), and my other friend Evan Lamb and his live sound and lighting company Black Sheep Sound (www.blacksheepsound.com) when i left Full Sail. I do all the audio work needed (and some photography and camera work when he needs it) for Superville Productions. I am Sound Engineer, Lighting Designer, Stage Manager, Co-Technical Supervisor, and grunt labor for Black Sheep Sound. I started playing guitar with Evan Lamb and his girlfriend Elisa Melendez in her band (www.elisamelendez.com) and mixed our first 4-song demo (produced by Evan Lamb). Work started dying down in Miami so I decided to go back to school and follow my other passion. Cars. I started attending ATI Career Training in Doral, FL until I found a better Automotive program at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL, where I am currently living. I'm currently going to school and working on getting my ASE certifications. My plans for the future are to open my own recording studio with the money I make from working on cars. I still do jobs whenever I can for Superville Productions and Black Sheep Sound. This profile is mainly to keep networking with people and companies in the Entertainment Industry and (if possible) do some jobs when I can.
