Scott William Winters was born in 1965 in New York, New York. He's half-italian and half-irish.
His first call to stardom was in the HBO series OZ, where he played the brain damaged inmate Cyril O'Reily, side by side with his real life brother Dean Winters, who played Ryan O'Reily...
He also has a younger brother Brad who worked on the show as well as a writer. The youngest in the family in Scott's sister Blair, she runs the Children's HIV ward of St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital in New York.
Scott is no stranger to working with his brother Dean. Before their OZ gig, the two worked together as brother bartenders at various New York bars.
It was at one of those establishments where they met Tom Fontana, who cast them in guest starring roles on his series Homicide: Life on the Street.
Scott has also appeared in other TV shows , such as " The Prosecutors", "The Pretender", "CSI","Dexter","NYPD Blue" as Detective Stan Hatcher, "10-8: Officers on Duty" as Senior Deputy Matt Jablonski and several movies, such as "The People vs. Larry Flynt", "Good Will Hunting", "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", but his most steady role is playing prisoner Cyril O'Reily on HBO's OZ, where he showed the amazing actor that he is.
Some of his latest works were in 24 as Agent Samuels and in "Lincoln Heights" as Lieutenant Pogue.

Sentence: Life, up for parole in 60 years. Cyril O'Reily murdered Preston Nathan, Dr. Gloria Nathan's husband.

ABOUT CYRIL O'REILY:
Cyril was an Irish American hoodlum like his brother Ryan, until he was injured in a fight, suffering brain damage and becoming mentally handicapped.
After his accident, he was left with the intelligence and personality of a 5 year old child.
In the second season of Oz Cyril murdered the husband of Dr. Gloria Nathan on orders from his brother Ryan, who was in love with Dr Nathan.
