About Me

Hi there. I play several instruments, but the ones I'm best on are clarinet and bass clarinet. Baritone and tenor saxes are my moonlighting horns, and I recently bought a soprano sax which I have to get overhauled. After that, we'll see. I recently marked 30 years of playing clarinet. I was well-schooled (at Rutgers University and Indiana University) but I'm still trying to figure out how to play. In recent years I've been studying various aspects of music with Mike Longo, particularly composition. Around New York I play with The Shul Band, Mike Longo's NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble, Ralph Revello's IC Express and sundry other things that come along, like John Fischer's group or the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. I also work full-time at the New York Public Library as a music archivist, which makes for very exhausting days when the gigs are coming at full-steam.This video was shot during The Shul Band's November 2005 visit to Krackow, Poland. Sorry for the video quality, but the sound works.
