"Bikini Science is an unlikely combination of flavors that somehow, like snail porridge, works. Although many bands in Los Angeles claim to embody a rebirth of the energy and originality of 60s and 70s "Golden Era" rock bands, Bikini Science doesn't.
The members of BS bring a broad spectrum of tastes to the table, but their collective heart lives in the best of the 80s & 90s; they cut their musical teeth learning REM, Mats and Smashing Pumpkins covers, and those influences percolate up through their solidly 67.5% of original brand R 'n' R. They write short, grooving guitar rock, with songs that tell a story. Singer/frontman Jon Morrow's lyrical themes range from comic book superhero sagas to unrequited love, but many also contain an omen of tragedy or impending violence.
Bikini Science is a bunch of creative dorks with, 1) a point of view, 2) too many Marshall amps for the size of the clubs they play, 3) semi-wild stage antics and 4) lovely sonic crunch--however they sometimes can be overheard wishing they were a band of talentless cocky frat boys sporting PRS guitars and Wayfarers, 'cause those guys seem to get all the chicks, man." - Media Boss
