About Me

Born in Manchester in 1980, I was taught Piano and Violin from an early age and later moved on to study Bassoon at Chethams School of Music. In 1999, I began my BSc Hons Degree in Business I.T. at Manchester Metropolitan University after which I settled into a steady 9-5 office routine for several years. In 2004 I regained my 'lip' as Bassoonist for Huddersfield Wind Band and more recently for Stockport based Werneth Concert Band .
In October 2006 I became one of 12 finalists for the BBC New Talent : New TV Composers Scheme. My Galapagos music was selected from over 1500 entries and I was invited to London to take part in a residential series of TV Composer Master classes with George Fenton , Alistair Fothergill and other leading professionals in the field. I was given the opportunity to conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra performing George Fenton's score of 'Planet Earth' at Angel Studios.
I have since written a number of my own compositions, scored several short films and am currently studying for my Masters in Music Composition at Salford University; writing for Wildlife Documentaries, Orchestral Scores, Brass & General Soundtrack under prof. Peter Graham.
