About Me

Kevin Arrowsmith is a progressive musician with roots in classical, jazz, blues, rock and roll, heavy metal and bluegrass. Born and raised in Nashville, TN, starting violin at age 5 and later picking up guitar and mandolin gave Kevin the tools to catapult himself into an industry thriving in his hometown. Kevin rounded off his music education with classical guitar, recording, music theory and composition studies at Middle Tennessee State University. While in college, Kevin played on dozens of student recitals, showcases, recording and film projects at both MTSU and Belmont University as well as playing in bands including The Secret Commonwealth and The Coal Men. After leaving college in 1999, Kevin began touring full time with Shedaisy, The Wilkinsons, James Monroe, Brian McComas (w/ Rascal Flatts), Kevin Denney, Kenny Chesney, Rodney Redman, The Goose Creek Symphony, Dierks Bentley, Jimmy Wayne, Trent Willmon, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dusty Drake, Josh Gracin, Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson.Kevin continues writing and playing in bands around Nashville and is fortunate to have co-writes with Tim O’Brien, Anders Osborne, Chapin Hartford and being a founding member of the progressive acoustic music band Blue Merle in 2001; he left the band in late 2002. Kevin too, has dozens of Grand Ole’ Opry appearances with various artist along with T.V. and recording credits with Shedaisy on the 1999 and 2000 ABC Disney Christmas Specials, the 2000 Red Cross Christmas Special, the house band for the 2000 Shedaisy Christmas Special w/ special guests Jewel, Brian McKnight and Richard Marx, 2000 Children’s Miracle Network telethon, the 2001 American Music Awards and 2003 CMT Most Wanted Live; 2003 Dierks Bentley video for 1 hit song “What Was I Thinkin’”; 2003 Brian McComas video for “You’re In My Head”; 2003 Goose Creek Symphony independent release “I Don’t Know” (fiddle and mandolin); 2004 GAC appearance with Trent Willmon live from Judge Beans Bar-B-Q; 2005 Josh Gracin appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America, 2005 CMT Unsung Heroes with Josh Gracin and Marcel, 2007 CMA Music Fest from riverfront park on GAC; 2005 CMT Unsung Heroes soundtrack produced by Chris Graffagnino (fiddle and mandolin); 2006 independent film "Outlaw Trail" end credit song "Away We'll Ride" (fiddle); 2006 The Coal Men Live DVD. 2008 Jessica Simpson on ABC's Good Morning America; 2008 Jessica Simpson on the CBS Early Show; 2008 Jessica Simpson on the View; 2008 Jessica Simpson on the Late Show w/ David Letterman; 2009 American Idol (country week house band) which included a performance with Randy Travis and Carrie Underwood.Kevin currently plays in Nashville with "Loose Cougar" and "Cassino"; he tours with pop singer Jessica Simpson and writes and records his own music.
