Taking a storybook approach in the execution of their work, SKH pulls inspiration from all walks of life and all eras of literature. Believing that the majority will create their own story, live in their own world, and create their own sense of security, parallel to each others existence, inspires SKH to construct an alternative reality in hopes of appreciating an oppressive counterpart. This in turn creates the opening to address enjoyment and heartbreak through a storybook tale of human nature.
Taking shape as naive playfully illustrated characters; SKH’s works (drawings, paintings, digital collages, and sculptures) are well conceived and philosophic on the basis of ceremonial symbolism. Everything is deeply routed in the affections of their craft. The collaborative explains, “Everything we touch has morphed over and over again, forcing us to learn new things about our characters and ourselves alike. As if to say, they are not the same thing. We have found that big things are manipulated by small men and all things are only the tip of the ice burg.â€
