Vocalist.guitarist, Shurlavision, has made it her lifelong practice to always do things her way. Leaving the Motor City in 1993, she drove alone cross-country by to LA in order to pursue her dream of writing and producing her unique style of deo-soul (Detroit-soul) music. Heavily influenced by the stylings of George Benson, Phyllis Hyman, Earl Klugh, Aretha Franklin and Anita Baker, Shurlavision is a sensually-seasoned, full-bodied, soulful performer. She is full of that old school vibe you used to listen to back in the day and she makes that energy open and available to you for your visual listening pleasure. Growing up as the musical director/organist for her father’s small Church Of God In Christ congregation, her unique method of conveying smooth, sensual spirituality through intense vocal self-expression is only equaled by her never-ending desire to give you the very best she’s got, every time she steps to it.
