The Jeannette Rankin Peace Center was started in 1987 to empower people to act locally to build a socially just, non-violent and ecologically sustainable society.The increasing prominence of aggressive military action and globally unsustainable business practices are the gravest threats the world faces. We believe that humanity stands at a vitally important threshold.We know that another world is possible, and that we, the people, have it within us to bring it into being. We need only to join our collective political will to the vast spiritual and material wealth, experience and innovative tools at our disposal.
