Triggers began in the Spring of 2005 when Brett Zoric and Joe Salmond, formally of the band Monarch (Northern Records) hooked up with Adam Rousseau and Rich "Woody" Kawood, formally of locals The You (Pure Tone Music) in the hopes of starting a new musical project. The four quickly began writing, making demos, playing shows, and doing other normal band things. Soon after the formation of the band however, Salmond left to join the US military and was replaced by local guitarist turned bassist Joe Kasler.
After solidifying their lineup, Triggers set about recording tracks that would become their debut EP. "Elude the Suits" was self released in December of 2006 and was hailed as "different and exciting" and "an ambitious hint at future accomplishment" by local media.
In the summer of 2007, Triggers began the recording of their first full length LP with producer/engineer John Hiler (Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair, Steven Stills, The Frogs, Danzig). The tracks were recorded at Mr. Small's Studio and The Machine Age in Pittsburgh, and mixed later that Fall in Los Angeles. The title of the album will be "Smoke Show" and it is scheduled to be released sometime in February 2008.
Triggers has played extensively in Pittsburgh and beyond, including: New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Cleveland, Arlington, Buffalo, Jamestown, Morgantown, Williamsport, California, and more...
