About Me

You might well ask why I'm doing a page for myself when I've already got my ProgRock Records site and Psychic for Radio band projects. Well, truth be told, I did a lot of music in my younger years that never really made it to any venue. After one of the best bands I was in, Silent Partner, broke up, I decided to just do everything by myself for a while, this was around 1986 I guess and I had my Atari computer and laser printer and massive 60megabyte harddrive and was already getting good at sequencing. I also had my Tascam 4 track PortaStudio and a drum machine. So I started working on my own songs and sequencing up as much as possible then I'd fly it on to the 4 track while I played guitar in at the same time, this left me 2 tracks for vocals. I'd play drums by physically playing a Drum Kat or an Octapad (I switched between them over time) triggering the sounds on my drum machine, sometimes I'd play the drums on keyboards or I'd trigger keyboard sounds from the drum pads and make strange music.
During this time I wrote everything from pop to new age to some metal and prog tunes, it was all over the map. I got to a point where I had enough material and I put together a band and we played it out live, but just once. The singer I found (it was too hard to play all my keyboard parts and sing at the same time) was very unstable, I've got a video of this when she walks of the stage and I try to pick up the vocals while playing. Anyway, it was a learning experience and set me up for the last band I was ever in, Zircadian, and the album I wrote with them was the inspiration for the second Frameshift album "An Absence of Empathy" that Sebastian Bach sang on. I did some backup vocals on that as well as lyric writing and overall story writing.
So now I'm starting to finish up new material with new partners that will see the light of day soon under the moniker "Psychic for Radio", so this page is mostly a hommage to my past. I'm sure the tracks will be found cheesy, but they were fun to write and record and stretch out doing all the instruments and voices with very limited tools.
